Athens (dpa) – Greek security forces detained an Iraqi man believed to be a member of the Islamic State extremist group in Athens on Monday.
The arrest came following information and tip-offs from anti-terrorism agencies in other countries, the Greek police said.
According to reports by Greece’s public broadcaster ERT, security authorities have videos showing the man in Syria with a gun in his hand spouting Islamic State propaganda in 2015. He is now due to appear in court on Tuesday, according to the ERT report.
