The secretary general and parliamentary spokesman of FORO Asturias in the General Assembly, Adrián Pumares, has expressed his satisfaction because this political group «has obtained the support of the General Assembly to demand the Asturian Government to maintain the hiring of the 755 COVID teachers who have reinforced the education system to deal with the pandemic during the next academic year».
The parliamentary spokesman regretted «the House’s rejection of our proposal to demand that the Spanish Government maintain the same extraordinary resources for the next academic year, as guaranteed by the Minister».

«Without knowing yet how the next school year will develop, and with the threat of the pandemic still present, it would be negligent to reject the need for additional resources, avoiding maintaining the current number of teachers, it is a serious mistake».

Finally, Pumares pointed out that the pandemic, with the confinement and semi-presence, «has caused numerous problems for students, so it is necessary to allocate all available resources to compensate for possible learning deficits».
